Have you been considering counselling or psychotherapy? Perhaps you are struggling with stress, anxiety, low mood, depression, rage, irritability, OCD, panic attacks or are experiencing suicidal thoughts.
Maybe you are drinking more than you would like or engaging in more 'risky' behaviour than you used to. It could be that friends and family are telling you that they are worried about you or that you have noticed a difference in your motivation at work or home.
Perhaps you have experienced trauma, loss, bereavement or are going through a transitional phase in your life. You may have been diagnosed with a specific mental health disorder or you may be simply not feeling like yourself or longing to understand yourself better.
If so, or if you are suffering in any other way with your mental health, please know that you are not alone.
We all suffer with mental health issues at points in our lives and, although reaching out for help can be daunting, if you are reading this you have already taken the first step towards feeling better.
My aim is to provide high quality, bespoke and affordable therapy that fits easily into my clients' lives and gives them the space that they need to focus on themselves, their lives, relationships and any traumas that they may have experienced in order to feel better and to live life with joy and vitality.
I am a qualified Person Centred therapist with a solid background in psychological theory. I take an integrative and adaptive approach to therapy which means that our work together will be unique and bespoke to meet your individual needs and preferences.
Therapeutic modalities which I utilise include Compassion Focussed Therapy, Guided Mindfulness and Person Centred Expressive Arts Therapy.
I am a member of the BACP and adhere to their ethical framework, code of conduct, competencies and professional development. I am also a member of the British Psychological Society (BPS).
You can read more about me on the home page.
Working via Zoom has become popular in recent years and I have undertaken specific training in online therapeutic work as there are a number of factors which make online therapy different to face to face work.
It is important to ensure that any therapist that you work with online has undergone such training. Zoom bookings mean that I can keep my session costs affordable and gives you the flexibility and convenience to schedule appointments around work, family life or other commitments.
All you need is your device and a private, confidential space where you feel comfortable to talk.
If you would like to know more or book an appointment, please contact me to arrange your free 20 minute initial consultation call.
It's time to start feeling better...
Please note that I am not able to offer support in the case of an urgent mental health crisis. If you or someone else may be at risk please contact Samaritans on 116 123 for 24 hour assistance or dial 999 in the case of an emergency.
Thank you Ruth! I feel so much more confident now and my relationship with my husband has improved.
